Translate the work, preserve the domain boundary
An estimator comparison can demonstrate how you controlled an experiment and diagnosed failure. It does not establish that the same method will work on market data. A simulation can demonstrate implementation and uncertainty reasoning without becoming a claim of trading experience.
Original fictional opening: “I investigated when an estimator became unreliable as measurement signal weakened. I implemented the comparison and documented conditions favoring a simpler baseline.”
The opening gives a reader a question, contribution and result. It invites technical depth without requiring a long literature introduction first.
Build the next-step plan
Compare current listings by responsibilities and explicit requirements. Separate research, trading and engineering targets. Inventory the code, experiments and explanations you can defend. Identify one missing capability and choose a bounded artifact or practice session to address it.
Avoid enrolling every possible topic in a generic transition plan. Your next hour should respond to the actual role and observed gap.
